In recognising our condition as human beings, we must act based on dignity, compassion, and respect. Not only is it possible to do more, but we must also take responsibility for our ecological footprint and assume what we can improve.
To raise our commitment to Nature, we created an internal Sustainability Committee in 2021, consisting of different people from different departments, to think, discuss, and implement measures across the whole company. With this initiative, we aim to be a 100% sustainable company with a purpose for People, Planet, and Business.
The year 2022 brought us some significant achievements:
2022
We were recognised as a Sustainable PME, a national award given to companies that effectively set an example of sustainability in business;
We launched our first range made with 100% fully recycled plastic - Toscana;
100% of our internal waste was reused;
100% of our packaging is eco-friendly: paper and cardboard come from sustainable sources - FSC certification - and plastic materials are recyclable;
We reduced 18% of our electric energy consumption compared to 2021 due to the use of solar energy in all facilities. Besides, in our terracotta factory, we optimised our kilns to be energy efficient;
In our terracotta factory, we used rainwater to supply the production chain, and planted trees from which we extract the clay;
We increased out human resources in 59%, while having an amount of 2852 hours of external training.
The SMETA code principles govern our internal conduct.
